Amberley Retirement Village: Taggart Advances the Next Stage of Development
Taggart is proud to be delivering the next phase of the Amberley Retirement Village near Christchurch, following the successful completion of the first two stages over the past three years. This growing development is set to provide high-quality retirement living in North Canterbury, and we’re pleased to be playing a key role in shaping its future.
Our team is responsible for delivering a full suite of civil works and essential infrastructure services, including drainage, water reticulation, roading, earthworks, and coordination with key stakeholders such as MainPower, Chorus, and the Hurunui District Council.
A major component of the current works is service trench construction. This is a critical element in ensuring the new village has reliable access to water, power, and telecommunications. The process involves three key phases:
Excavation – Trenches are dug with precision to meet exact depth and alignment requirements.
Service Installation – Core utilities are laid carefully, ensuring each component is installed accurately and safely.
Backfilling & Compaction – Trenches are then refilled and compacted to create a robust, long-lasting foundation.
Taggart is working closely with HPA and their subcontractors to deliver the next stage ahead of schedule. This collaborative effort is helping our client bring completed units to market sooner than anticipated. It also supports growing demand for retirement living in the region.
At Taggart, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality outcomes on every project. With safety, precision, and clear communication at the forefront, we’re excited to see the Amberley Retirement Village continue to take shape as we lay the groundwork for a vibrant and connected community.
